Friday I’ll be playing with the great Ed Kineski at Kinfolks which is definitely the most fun venue I’ve played so far. So hopefully I’ll see a lot of you there! I look forward to beefing up my original repitoure over the summer and may have some spontaneous shows around Boulder or Denver while I’m getting my Montessori teaching certification. Really look forward to rocking out with you all this week! Thank you and music love all around.

Pulled out of a snowdrift…just at the right time

January 8, 2007

Last Thursday I was at DIA for a flight to leave before the next storm. The only parking places that I could find in the outlying parking had snow banks in them. I thought, since I had an Outback and because it was the designated car all Christmas in Denver, there would be no problem. Wrong! I got stuck, with my car at an angle in the space and 2/3 of the car hanging out in the driving lane. I was unable on my own to get it unstuck and there no people around to help. I decided to leave it because I needed to catch my flight. Monday as I was leaving Spokane, I said a prayer that I would be able to deal with the stuck car with ease and that whoever was to be of help would be very obvious to me. I looked around on my flight and saw no one obvious. At baggage claim and on the shuttle, I saw no one obvious. I was pulling my bags along and turned into my row. At the same time from the other direction turning into my row was a Security truck followed by a tow truck. We converged at my car. They were coming to tow my car because it was “in the way” Interesting that it had been that way for four and half days but now was the time. They put the chain on my car and pulled it out with ease. I was on my way with no hassle and without delay. Thank you, God.

New Years Affirmations Rather than Resolutions

January 2, 2007

Each year many of us start out by reflecting on the past year and then setting a group of New Year Resolutions. Most of the time they are forgotten by January 5th. Why? Here is a starting point for consideration. Webster’s defines ‘Resolution’ as the act or process of resolving. They also say it is the act of determining. This might be our best clue as to why resolutions go by the wayside. We are looking for a way to get to a higher point without first affirming that it is already ours.

Within the teaching of Ernest Holmes we have come to see that an ‘Affirmation’ is a visualization of what we desire in serving our highest good as though it is already here and now. It is a faith in our connection to Spirit and that Spirit is unlimited in its resources. It is a reality that we know we are in the process of experiencing. Therefore, doesn’t it make sense to set an Affirmation in the Universe before we resolve on some way to get there? See it first and then move your feet. For those who have already seen Affirmations demonstrate in our daily life we take time to use this tool to expand good, love and perfection within and without.

The New Year offers a wonderful time to set significant Affirmations in your life and for the lives of all other creatures in God’s universe. I open this topic to solicit your Affirmations for the New Year. Share what you are comfortable in sharing, but know that it will inspire us all.
